Walking is perhaps the best and easiest cardio exercise for weight loss. It’s one of the exercises that you can add to your routine without really having to change your schedule too drastically. You walk every day to get exercise. But what if there were more ways to take walking to the next level?
One of the best cardio exercises that you could do is to jump higher. In other words, jump higher and work the muscles of your legs and your butt even further. When you take the stairs instead of the elevator at work, you work your whole body. But when you do it on a regular basis, you work only your legs. And that means burning more calories because your heart rate has to work harder to maintain pace with the jumping.
Best Cardio Exercises
So let’s move onto another of the best cardio exercises – cycling. Cycling is when you ride on a bicycle, not on the pavement like you would on the road. The best thing about cycling is that you are constantly working out your leg muscles. It doesn’t matter if you’re pedaling fast or slow – the resistance means your muscles are constantly being strained, which causes fat to be burned.
The three most common exercises are cycling, running, and sprinting. Cycling is probably the easiest because you just have to do it in the beginning. You just start in the starting position. You can’t “over-exert” the muscles in the starting position, so it won’t be a lot of work at first. You’ll start gradually adding intensity as you cycle faster.
Running is also pretty simple. You just do it. It doesn’t matter what kind of surface you’re on. You can do it with only a pair of dumbbells in your hands or with a whole barbell on your shoulders.
However, sprinting is a little more intense. To be honest, I don’t really consider sprinting a cardiovascular exercise. Sprints actually work out your quads. This happens because your heart rate is actually increasing to match the increase in your muscles’ metabolic demand. This actually works pretty well because it’s a great way to build endurance, which is something you need for racing.
If you’re going to do any of these kinds of workouts, make sure to vary them. Don’t do exactly the same exercises all the time. Variety does wonders for your workouts. Your body will adjust to your changes, and the intensities and duration of your workouts will be much better.
You also need to keep your heart rate up throughout your workouts. Try to find a heart rate that’s comfortable for you. Find something within the range that keeps your heart rate within a couple of beats of maximum potential. In other words, do your cardio exercises to exhaustion before you go into your weight lifting workout so that your heart rate can have a chance to return to normal levels.
Things To Consider
A good way to start would be with some high-intensity interval training. A lot of people don’t like doing this kind of exercise because they don’t think it’s intense enough. However, that’s actually what makes it effective. By forcing your body to exert a large amount of energy at one time, you get your heart rate up, and your muscles burn more calories. So, by doing high-intensity interval training, you can get a very intense aerobic workout while at the same time minimizing the amount of time you spend in the gym.
One of the most common types of HIIT workouts is running because it’s the easiest one to do. However, if you’re not familiar with running, you may want to try something like sprinting instead. When I talk about sprinting, I’m talking about interval-type workouts. These are high-intensity activities where you alternate high-intensity bursts with short bursts of rest. As you get more familiar with them, you can change the length of the burst for even better results.
The next exercise that I want to mention today involves some jumping jacks. Jumping jacks are great for burning calories because you have to propel yourself in order to do them. Therefore, your heart rate has to be high during the activity. If you can do this properly, you can get an effective cardio workout because it forces your body to adapt to the stress of doing the exercise. As your muscles become stronger, your metabolism will increase, which can help you lose weight fast. If you’re not familiar with jumping jacks, you can find them online or at most sports stores.
Last but not least, a workout using your legs can be very effective for weight loss. I like this exercise because it requires almost no equipment at all. You only need to either get onto your hands and knees or lay flat on your back. I recommend doing this exercise while watching TV, as it requires almost no focus.
